Doug joined Auswide Bank in April 2024 as Managing Director. Doug’s financial services career spans 35 years, including his most recent role of Chief Executive Officer of StockCo, a livestock-specialist finance provider. During his time at StockCo, Doug was instrumental in reinvigorating the business strategy, with a focus on increasing profitability, while improving business process and operations. Doug has also held senior positions at Bank of Queensland as General Manager for Corporate Business Banking and Acting Group Executive of the Business Division. During his time at Bank of Queensland, Doug played a key role in delivering major digital transformation projects, including a Financial Markets Digital platform and New Payments Platform (NPP). While at Commonwealth Bank, Doug held the roles of General Manager for Regional and Agribusiness (QLD and NT), as well as Head of Global Markets Queensland, Singapore and Hong Kong.
Damian joined Auswide Bank in June 2016 as the Chief Customer Officer. He is responsible for all customer acquisition through retail and broker channels, customer experience as well as brand, product and sponsorships. Damian has over 18 years experience in the finance Industry. Before joining Auswide Bank, Damian worked at Suncorp and Bank of Queensland in a wide range of senior roles covering retail, franchise, business and agri banking. Damian holds an Education Degree and Masters of Business from Queensland University of Technology, as well as the completion of the Credit Finance Program from Fitch Corporate.
During the past 45 years at Auswide Bank, Gayle has gained significant banking and leadership experience in all aspects of human resources, property portfolio management, branch operations, product development, learning and development, regulatory licensing and compliance and sales management. Gayle’s appointment in 2013 to the position of General Manager - Human Resources, Chief People Officer in 2016 and in 2018 to her current position of Chief People and Property Officer has allowed Gayle to focus on significant improvements in the HR and payroll function and, with strong collaboration in the business, improved property management and better people spaces. Gayle promotes best practice in people management that embraces individuals through diversity of ability and thought, that creates value for the Bank’s customers and shareholders.
Scott commenced with Wide Bay Capricorn (now Auswide Bank Ltd) 40 years ago as assistant to the Operations Manager. During this time Scott had 6 years (in the early 2000s) away from the bank operating his IT consultancy business throughout regional Queensland and interstate. Scott has extensive IT and financial services experience having served 'his apprenticeship' with the federal Department of Finance early in his career. Utilising his extensive information technology experience, Scott is responsible for the management and strategic planning of this area, the delivery of key technology projects, controls and security management, as well as information technology vendor and partner management. Scott is focused on ensuring Auswide Bank systems remain relevant and appropriate.
Mark was appointed as Auswide Bank’s official Group Treasurer in July 2024, and had been working as a consultant for the Bank since January. Mark brings a wealth of experience and expertise to Auswide Bank, having previously served in key leadership roles at Westpac, RBC Capital Markets and RBS. With a strong track record of strategic financial management and proven success in driving performance, Mark is well-positioned to support Auswide Bank’s growth and financial stability.
Craig joined Wide Bay Australia Ltd in February 2014 as General Manager Internal Audit, before taking on the role of Chief Risk Officer in July 2014. Craig has more than 35 years experience in the financial sector and prior to Auswide Bank held senior management roles with Westpac throughout Australia, Papua New Guinea, and Solomon Islands. In his current role Craig is responsible for the Bank’s risk management, compliance framework and control systems. Craig is accountable for all risk classes including compliance risk, credit risk, operational risk, liquidity, financial crime compliance and insurance. Craig holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Southern Queensland and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Danielle commenced her role as Group Executive Operations and Technology at Auswide Bank in July 2024. With over 25 years of experience in banking and finance across Westpac, Suncorp, and Bank of Queensland, Danielle brings a wealth of expertise in strategy, leadership, and digital transformation. She has a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams across various areas, including operations, risk, technology, change management, communications, training, marketing, product development, data science, project delivery, and continuous improvement in the financial services sector. Danielle’s commitment to a customer-first approach ensures that she drives business improvement by delivering solutions efficiently, collaboratively, and cohesively.
Bill commenced with Wide Bay Capricorn (now Auswide Bank Ltd) in 2001 as Financial Accountant, followed by his appointment as Company Secretary and then Chief Financial Officer in 2003. Bill has had a broad professional career, having spent 13 years in Chartered Accounting, principally auditing credit unions and small businesses, before managing law practices in Brisbane. Bill is responsible for the group accounting and treasury functions, statutory and management accounting, and the prudential reporting for the Bank. The role also includes investor relations and company secretarial duties, as well as capital and funding strategy, stress testing, contingency planning and crisis management. Bill has played a significant role in the merger and acquisition transactions of the company since his appointment.
Rebecca joined Auswide Bank in 2021 as the Chief Transformation Officer. Rebecca has over 20 years experience in the financial sector in both the UK and Australia. Rebecca has held a variety of roles, including Strategy Principal at Deloitte, Chief Data Officer and EGM Strategic Innovation and EGM Business Services at Suncorp. Rebecca’s responsibilities include facilitating strategy, driving digital transformation, and creating the underlying capabilities that support Auswide Bank's change agenda. Rebecca has a double degree with a Bachelor of Commerce and Economics from the University of Queensland, is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and, in 2018, completed a Post Graduate certification in Innovation and Entrepreneurship with Stanford University.
